Minutes

Meeting commenced at: 3:10 pm, at Josh’s house.

Last meeting’s minutes:

Minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report:

Treasurer reported that we are still missing contributions from about 20 people but there are only a few that contributed last year that haven’t yet this year. Jane Reed volunteered to knock on doors. The Treasurer's report was read and approved.

Treasurer’s report July 23rd 2022

Dues collection going pretty good so far. Only 11 residents have not given anything to association dues or CLP treatment. 2 residents donated to one or the other but not both. I have made calls to most of those who have not paid and was successful on getting a couple more donations. Still working to finish out the call list.

Total CLP collections as of 7-23-22 - $8,500

Total association dues collections as of 7-23-22 $3,250

Bank balance 7-22-22 $9,426.58

This balance includes the GO Fund Me proceeds that initially did not clear the bank but has been resubmitted per notice I received on 7-27-22. Will follow up to make sure this goes thru.

Sincerely,

Curt Schmitz

Treasurer

Curly Leaf Pond Weed:

It was reported that the contributions and grants are covering the expense without touching the general fund.

Josh demonstrated on a map the areas treated. He will send this out via email. Craig Mueller sets the application zones, based on where the curly leaf exists.

Motion to do another treatment next year unanimously approved.

It was discussed that there are DNR, science based research papers that show that getting rid of curly leaf promotes the natural vegetation to come back and in the long run is good for the fish as letting it grow will eventually choke out the fish.

Copper Sulfate:

We can get a permit for copper sulfate application if needed, but the DNR has warned us about applying it without a permit.

Directory:

Contact Dave with any changes in contact information. Josh’s emails are going to everyone in the directory, not just association members.

Website:

Dave and Patrick have made updates to the website. A link will be posted on the Lake Martha Facebook page. There is a link on the website to the new Airbnb on Lake Martha (Location 45), if anyone has guests that need a rental. It is “Gary’s gray house”.

Picnic:

Flotilla today is canceled due to rain. Patrick will post this on the Facebook page. Once a volunteer comes forward for an early fall picnic off lake, information will be sent out and posted on the Facebook site and website.

Lake Levels:

Josh has received comments about lawn watering affecting water levels. He will do research on this and report back.

Next Meeting:

Next meeting is March 7, 2023 at 7:00 pm. Location is tentatively the Schmitz’s garage.

Meeting adjourned at: 4:20 pm
